Non members are asked to pay an additional $10.00 fee for workshops. Classes are filling fast and we do have a limited amount of spaces available.

Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policy for Arapahoe County Quilters (ACQ) Workshops

Any member or guest signing up to participate in a workshop sponsored by ACQ must make payment for the entire amount of the class enrollment fee at the time of registration. The participant may cancel and receive a full refund if cancellation is received in writing to the current VP of Programs (Amy Flynn) prior to 90 days in advance of the workshop. If the notice is received after the 90 days, the participant's fee will be retained by ACQ. However, the participant may arrange for another person to take their place at the workshop but ACQ will not be a party to the financial arrangements made between the parties.

March: Kelly Gallagher Abbott, workshop: Terribly Terrific Techniques $50.00 www.jukeboxquilts.com

Kelly is a trained and experienced judge, curator of the Hoffman Challenge, and a prolific quilter and designer for the quilt market. Many quilts she makes are done on extremely short deadlines. She has learned and adapted many techniques (and uses indispensable tools and supplies) for speed and accuracy that don't compromise quality workmanship.

This class will show you substitute methods for many difficult techniques, and help you correct the most common errors that judges note in competition. This class is perfect for a newer or beginning quilter, but even super experienced quilters will learn a great deal. You will learn curved machine piecing, foundation piecing, flawless machine appliqué with turned edges (often confused for hand appliqué), accurate miters and perfect bindings. In addition to completing a darling sample quilt, you'll find yourself applying these techniques to every future quilt project you have.

April: Peg Collins, workshop: Shadow Trapunto Whole Cloth quilting $50.00 www.countryhousequilting.com

Peg Collins is an award winning quilter whose quilts have hung in several major quilt shows. In the past 8 years she has taught a wide range of classes, from beginner to advanced. Her workshop, entitled "Shadow Trapunto Whole Cloth Quilting" will teach the basics of trapunto, and student will leave with a small feathered heart wall hanging.

May: Trish Stuart, workshop: 2 day class, Vanilla Jamaica $75.00 www.twthreads.com

Trish Stuart is an international teacher, has published 9 books, 2 full length "workshop in the home" DVD's, and numerous package patterns, been a guest on 3 national televi-sion programs and has been a frequent contributor in national quilting magazines. She will teach students how to make the pattern 'Vanilla Jamaica'. This quilt brings the be-ginner up to the intermediate level without pain or fuss. Start by learning a half square triangle, progress to the angled border block, then with one more change create the inte-rior diamond blocks. Oversize fusible applique is added for drama. There are three free videos available for viewing after the class so when finishing the quilt at home to help you remember the techniques learned in class.
This class is suitable for all levels!
