READ WHAT WENT ON IN APRILApril 10, 2008 - Karen Combs Karen Combs will be lecturing on Transparency and will be giving a workshop on this technique.
A native of Michigan, Karen began
quilting in1972 while still in High School. She has a degree in library
science and worked at many state, city and school libraries before
realizing her true calling was as a professional quilting instructor,
writer, and designer. Karen’s quilts are known for taking a traditional
pattern and giving it her own “twist”. She is intrigued with quilts of
illusion and has been designing quilts with a 3-D look for several
years. Karen is the author of Optical Illusions for Quilters,
Combing Through Your Scraps, Floral Illusions, 3 Quilters
Celebrate the 4 Seasons, 3-D Fun with Pandora’s Box. Her
newest book is Celtic Pieced Illusions. Most of her books are
published by AQS.

READ WHAT WENT ON IN AUGUST August 14,2008 - David Taylor David Taylor is native of New Hampshire and has lived in many parts of the USA. He currently makes his home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he started his quilting career in 1999. Since then he has been the recipient of many awards, amongst them is the Fairfield Master Award for Contemporary Quilt Artistry from the International Quilt Association (2006), the Brother Machine Workmanship Award from the American Quilters Society (2008) and has twice received Best of Show honors at the Spring International Quilt Festival in Chicago from IQA (2007, 2008). He also just had his first European solo exhibit at the Les Jardins de Magali gallery in Lauris, France.
