A Message From the UFO Queen

Part I - Organizing Your UFO Projects

Is your UFO pile still growing despite encouragements from your friendly UFO queen and your quilting buddies? I know of only 3 sure ways to make your UFO pile to stop from growing; the first is not to start on any new projects (easier said than done - sigh), the second is to start finishing your UFO projects and the third is to give your UFOs away.

Well, you are determined to finish some of your projects but just don't know where to start.  Here are some ways that help me on my quest to a non-existent UFO pile.  I organize my UFOs based on what needs to be done to bring them to completion: add binding, do quilting, get backing fabric, add borders to the top, finish piecing the quilt top, finish blocks for the quilt top, and last giveaways never to be completed by me.  Once I sort the UFOs I make a list with the categories and the quilt projects.  That way I know approximately how many unfinished projects I have and what I want to work on next when the mood strikes me.  Organizing your UFO projects is one way to start making your UFO pile smaller.

Spring time is just around a corner and that is always a good time to clean and organize.  So get started and get those UFOs organized.

Happy organizing,

veronika
