Our Guild
Arapahoe County Quilters (ACQ) carries on a variety of
activities that benefit our members as well as our community. In addition to our
general meetings we sponsor a bi-annual quilt
show, host national speakers and carry on an active charitable quilts
program.
-
General Meetings General meetings are
held on the second Thursday of each month at the First
Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S. Colorado Blvd. on the southwest
corner of Hampden and Colorado, in Englewood, Colorado. Guest fees are $6.00.
Our meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and are preceded by a half hour
socialization time. We have a business meeting covering pertinent topics,
show and tell, door prize drawings and a program or guest speaker.
-
Membership Our membership currently stands at
over 350. Membership in Arapahoe
County Quilters is $25 per year (January through December). Your membership entitles you to attend our monthly guild meetings and
receive ACQ Views, our newsletter. Our meetings are open to guests for a fee
of $6.00. You can join ACQ at any of the general meetings or you may print
and complete the Membership
Form.

Biannual Quilt Show -
The ACQ
Festival of Quilts Show was held on June 8 - 10, 2006 at the First
Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S. Colorado Blvd in Englewood. The
purpose of the show is to showcase quilts from ACQ members.
- Bees - ACQ encourages both new and existing members to join
"bees," which are small groups that gather weekly or monthly to work
on individual or group quilting projects. Joining a bee is a wonderful way
to meet new people, make friends, learn new techniques and enhance quilting
skills. Some bees meet at libraries, while most rotate among members'
homes. Bees are formed by geographic location and desired meeting time.

- Challenge Quilts - Each year Guild members can choose to take part in a
specially assigned "challenge" project. Themes are chosen, and
sometimes a special fabric is required. Members' completed challenge quilts are usually
presented during the December Guild meeting. Guild members vote on favorites in
various categories and prizes are awarded. View the rules and showing date for
this year's Challenge.
- Charitable Quilts - This is a very important part of our
guild. Click here to read about the efforts
of this valuable committee.
- Raffle Quilt 2007 - Each year couple ACQ members design and
make a quilt to be sold and the profit to support ACQ activities. Click here to
